What is important to us:

Excellence:

Promoting our students’ talents is of particular importance for us. As a school we have received several awards for the special profiles and possibilities we offer to our students. For our advanced foreign language profile we have been awarded the CertiLingua Label of Excellence for Plurilingual, European and International Competences. Furthermore, we are a member of the MINT-Excellence-Center which sets a special focus on mathematics, information technology and natural sciences. With these two special labels we are able to award special additional qualifications to our graduates, which set them apart from other university and job applicants.

Individual learning pathways:

We are committed to continually support the learning process of each individual student throughout their school careers. Our different profiles enable our students to focus on and develop their special interests and talents. Furthermore, students who need special support are assisted and guided within our individual learning consultant programme.

Intercultural competence:

As a school we place great emphasis on preparing our students for participation and success in our globalized and interconnected world. We are a school with a strong international orientation and offer our pupils a comprehensive foreign language profile, starting from year 5, which includes extra English lessons as well as bilingual classes (CLIL-classes) in history, social sciences and economics. We teach the languages English, French, Latin, Spanish and Italian. Furthermore, we firmly believe that language learning means language use, thus our aim is to facilitate our students spending time abroad with international students from our many different partner schools, so that they can apply their foreign language competence first-hand and develop true intercultural competence beyond the classroom.

STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics):

Science and technology are forming and creating our future. As a MINT-Excellence-Center school we offer numerous additional activities and camps to our students with a special focus on the STEM-subjects. Here courses are taught in state-of-the-art facilities with numerous possibilities for student experiments. We offer advanced courses leading to the Abitur in all classical natural sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and we even have our own astronomical observatory.

Community & personality building:

We are dedicated to strengthening our students’ personalities and to support each individual student in feeling at home in our school community through different elaborated programs and projects. Critical thinking, cooperation and responsibility are core values of our school community.

Cultural education:

Cultural education has an integral part in our school community.  In addition to our music, art, and drama classes we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities where the students can engage themselves and develop their creative talents.
